Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease and Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis were represented at the 50th Annual Drug Information Association (DIA) Meeting in San Diego, California this summer.

DIA ensures an unbiased environment and provides educational and professional development opportunities for individuals working in the pharmaceutical and medical product development-related fields, as well as a global, unbiased forum for the exchange of information across multiple disciplines of programming and publications. These opportunities help facilitate the process of bringing life-saving medicines and health care technologies to the world.

Over 7,000 patient advocates, drug and industry personnel were in attendance.  Colleen Zak, Founder/CEO of the ARPKD/CHF Alliance was a speaker and presented on Patient Perspectives in Communication during Clinical Trials.  As Chairperson of DIA’s Patient Advocate Alumni, she assisted with the selection of new patient advocates, mentored and trained new advocates in an all day workshop.  DIA is just one example of professional collaboration and networking by the ARPKD/CHF Alliance.
