Broadway Then and Now
Join us February 8th!  In Alexandria,VA!

This dynamic piano-vocal trio has been entertaining Washington area audiences in both full concert and after-dinner entertainment since 1995.  Vocal versatility coupled with masterful piano orchestrations enables this trio to perform the wonderful music of Broadway, from Carousel, Oklahoma and Brigadoon, to Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon.

Both singers, with exquisite accompaniment of a world-class pianist, display a vocal versatility that allows them to perform an extensive repertoire from grand opera to Broadway.  Soprano, Beverley Benda completed coursework for the DMA in Performance & Literature while on the faculty of the Eastman School of Music, winning their prestigious Performer’s Certificate along the way.  She has appeared as soloist with such organizations as the Rochester Oratorio Society, the Rochester Light Opera, the National Cathedral Choral Society, the McLean Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony, and the National Symphony Orchestra.  She has appeared in leading musical theater roles across the country.  She has applied her talents as well to CD recordings as well as film and TV soundtracks, most notably the latest Star Wars film:  Phantom Menace.

Tenor Michael Ford, a native Tennesseean, is a graduate of Austin Peay University and a favorite soloist in the Washington, DC, area.  He has performed major roles with such organizations as the Arlington Metropolitan Chorus, the New Dominion Chorale, the Washington Bach Consort and the Paul Hill Chorale.  He has also appeared regionally with the Chicago Symphony Chorus, Knoxville Opera & Symphony, and the Brevard Opera.  Michael has won several competitions including the Annapolis Vocal Competition and was Second Place winner in the Regional Metropolitan Opera Competition.

Pianist Joseph Holt is an internationally known performer and conductor.  Dr. Holt has appeared in recitals with orchestras in North America, Europe and the Middle East.  He has conducted such outstanding ensembles as the Wolf Trap Orchestra and, as an arranger, has produced several multi-piano concerts, most recently at the Kennedy Center.  As concert pianist for the United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own), he performs regularly for official Washington functions and heads of states.  Dr. Holt is a Baldwin Concert Artist and currently Associate Conductor of the Choral Arts Society of Washington.

Broadway Then & Now had delighted private and corporate audiences such as The Aspen Institute, Meridian Investments, and The Toronto Board of Tourism in venues ranging from the Mayflower Hotel and Maison Blanche, to Strathmore Hall, Constitution Hall, and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  They assure a truly memorable and delightful evening with Broadway’s greatest moments.
