Hero of Hope and Caregiver of the Year Award
by the American Kidney Fund
Each year at the national gala event for the American Kidney Fund, The Hope Affair honors individuals who inspire the fight against kidney disease. In 2011, they will honor a Hero of Hope, as well as a Caregiver of the Year.
Do you know a current or former dialysis patient or caregiver who deserves recognition? Consider honoring him or her with a nomination as a Hero of Hope or Caregiver of the Year.
The Hero of Hope award will go to a current or former dialysis patient who is making a difference. Previous honorees have been selected for such reasons as providing support and encouragement to fellow kidney patients, volunteering in their community, and helping increase awareness of kidney disease.
Caregiver of the Year is a new award that will be presented to someone who goes “above and beyond” to provide care and support to current or former dialysis patients. Renal professionals, as well as friends and loved ones of patients, are eligible for this award.
The 2011 Hero of Hope and 2011 Caregiver of the Year will be our honored guests at The Hope Affair Tuesday evening, October 25, 2011, in Washington, D.C
Deadline for nominations is August 5, 2011.
